Remebering this month - December - The one and only Clifton Chenier

Born: June 25, 1925, in Opelousas, LA

Died: December 12, 1987, in Lafayette, LA.

 

Not enough can be said about the importance of Clifton Chenier in Zydeco music. 

Although he began his career in the mid-1940's, his sound can still be heard today.

His music is loved and imitated around the world.

You are truly missed.  RIP.

A New CD is in the works!

Corey is currently taking some time to develop his 6th CD - currently untitled.

It is on schedule to be released in the first quarter of 2012.

 

He's going to be stepping out of the Zydeco box a bit on this one...stay tuned...

In the month of September, we remember two of the Zydeco Greats - Andrus Espre (Beau Jocque) and John Delafose.

Andrus "Beau Jocque" Espre, born November 1, 1953.

He passed away on September 10, 1999 at the age of 45.
